Salford Quays Photo-Walk

Last evening a few members got together for a photo-walk around Salford Quays. The weather was favourable, if a little breezy. In fact the light was pretty good! Due to the absence of photographic permits, and the sometimes over-zealous security guards around Media City, we decided to split up into smaller groups so as not to attract attention. Happily we didn't encounter any guards!

The buildings and architecture can create some pleasing images, and I think everyone enjoyed the stroll around - until the cold started to get to some members and they headed home. Queue "pint" for the hardy remainder, who headed for a trendy bar to enjoy some real ale. After the pit stop, the light was beginning to fade, and a lonely chap appeared at the other end of the bridge, carrying a Nikon and tripod. It was none-other than our own Andy Gilbert, arriving in time for the blue hour!

There was an abundance of interesting characters on show - for those who have the nerve for street photography. This chap made riding a motorised monocycle look very easy - I think I want one!

All in all, it was a great photo-walk. One of the reasons why the WDCC is a great club is outings like these. I can't wait for the next one - a stroll around the impressive Manchester architecture in June.
